What is our vision?

Our heart’s desire is to see the Criollo people worshipping God in the name of Jesus and making disciples among themselves and all nations.

The Native Argentine Criollos are an unreached people living mainly in the northern provinces of Argentina but also at the fringes of the country’s major cities. In other Latin American countries, they would be called Mestizos. However, this word has a derogatory connotation for most Argentines, so we use "Criollo" in our context. The Northern Criollos number some 1.5 million. They speak Spanish but are markedly distinct in their culture from the large majority of Argentines who are of purely foreign descent.

Our vision is our heart’s desire.  We must always pray that God through the power of the Holy Spirit fills us with love for the Native Argentine Criollos.  That love will result in our desire to see the greatest need that Criollos have met through the gospel.

Our vision is to see the Criollo people worshipping God in the name of Jesus.  Worship implies several things.

  • It implies a personal relationship with the one worshipped.  Therefore, we will do evangelism so that they may have personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
  • It implies a personal sacrifice. (See Romans 12:1.)  Therefore, we will teach the Criollo people to be disciples of Christ, committed to obey Him in all things out of love for Him.
  • It implies both a personal and corporate activity.  Therefore, we will teach the Criollos not only how to relate to God personally through Jesus Christ but also how to relate to God corporately through the local church.  Therefore, we will plant churches that are indigenous in leadership and in culture and will do all we can do to facilitate that this happens through a Spirit-led church planting movement.

Our vision is that the Criollos make disciples among themselves.  Flowing from their worship and love for God as committed disciples will be a desire to see their neighbors and relatives have the same relationship with God.  Our desire is not that the Criollos depend upon us to win their people, but that they win their people depending upon God and His resources.   Therefore, we must use methods that are reproducible by the Criollo people under the power of God.

Our vision is that the Criollos make disciples among all nations.  Our desire is that God will place within the Criollos a boldness and faith that will enable them to cross all ethnic and economic barriers to proclaim the Good News to all nations.
